2022 marked the first season of fieldwork by members of the Agora Valley Project. In the field, we focused on cleaning and documenting portions of the Southwest Temenos that had been excavated in the 1960s. Decades of inattention to this monument resulted in the accumulation of soil across the entire area.

The greater part of our energy and attention in 2022 was devoted to the study of materials recovered in the excavations of the 1960s. These earlier excavations had produced an abundance of ceramic material and other artifacts, including the remains of several stone sculptures, the vast majority of which had remained unpublished.
